BlackBerry has been lagging behind in the smartphone market with Samsung Galaxy, iPhone, HTC and even Micromax with their Canvas version leading the market. In order to provide a strong competition to these smartphones, BlackBerry launched BlackBerry Q5 in India at Rs 24,990, which looks a good deal for the mentioned price.
The BlackBerry was criticized earlier for its overpriced phones which many believe led to its downfall. Hence, there was a serious need for BlackBerry to make an immediate comeback. BlackBerry Q5 is their reply. The pricing of Q5 is most eye-catching, especially when compared with their previous phones in the market such as Z10 and Q10, which cost above 40,000.The Q5 touch screen is 3.1" square size with 720x720 pixel resolution. The screen is bright giving a contrast and vivid look. The smartphone uses a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and 2 GB of memory, running at 1.2 GHz. It is light as well at 120 gms, 4.72-inches tall, 2.59-inches wide and 0.42-inches deep, reported Firstpost. The phone is available in three colours - black, red and white.
In spite of all the good features, there are some, which still could have been dealt better, especially the Qwerty keyboard, resembling the same as that of the old BB OS7 devices. The sensor that has been used in the Q5 is also said to be of a cheaper quality as compared to Q10. It may be for the same reason that the images formed by Q5 with 5 megapixels are not best suited to indoor or low-light, as it can gives a grainy picture.
In the next month or so, we could come to know about the success of the new BlackBerry model, which has been introduced to get back their consumers. Q5 could put BlackBerry well on track.
