Smartphone maker Xolo has expanded its tablet portfolio with the launch of Xolo Play Tab 7.0 – the first of its Tegra series of tablets.
The Play Tab 7.0 is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra mobile processor, which sports quad-core architecture and a fifth battery-saver core resulting in extended battery life, the company said in a statement.
"We're replicating the success we've achieved in the smartphone category now in tablets. Xolo Play Tab 7.0 marks the first tablet in the XOLO Play category of products. Similar to XOLO Play T1000 smartphone launched in July, the Tab delivers similar entertainment now on a bigger 7-inch screen," said Sunil Raina, Business Head at Xolo.
Last month, Xolo entered a new segment of devices with the launch of Xolo Tab after launching various phones in the mid- to high-end smartphone segment. With the Xolo Play category of products, the brand is particularly focused on the growing mobile gaming community in the country, said the company.
The 7'' device has 1280 x 800 WXGA IPS LCD display and 8 GB inbuilt memory which can be expanded up to 32 GB with Micro SD card. The tablets has full HD 1080p video playback and comes packed with a 4000mAH battery for long power back-up
​The Play Tab 7.0 comes pre-loaded with TegraZone, where consumers can find, explore and download Tegra-optimized Android games, for a console-quality gaming experience, with more realistic, interactive and challenging gameplay and graphics.

Finnish handset major Nokia today launched its high-end Lumia 1020 equipped with a 41 Mega Pixel camera, targeted at shutterbugs.
The Windows-operating system enabled phone, made in Nokia's facilities in Europe and Beijing, was priced at Rs 49,999, Nokia India Director (South) T S Sridhar said unveiling the phone, here.
He said the company had sold 27 million units of Lumia range of phones across globe till June 2013, adding Lumia sales in Indian market witnessed a significant jump.
"Sales of Lumia has been increasing. There was a 32 per cent growth in second quarter of 2013 over the first quarter", Sridhar told reporters here.
India was ranked among the top three markets for Lumia range of phones, he said.
The phone comes with 41 MP camera and can access 8 billion songs from Nokia Store. It would also allow user to download 1.65 lakh apps from Nokia portal, he said.
The phone will be available across the stores today and the company is offering a six months EMI scheme, he said.
